As a Analytics Platform Engineer, you will be an integral part of the IT department, working with cross-functional teams to manage and optimize data pipelines and solutions. Your work will ensure the availability, quality, and reliability of data for analytics and reporting. You will focus on creating scalable and efficient data ingestion, transformation, and modelling workflows using Azure technologies and the Microsoft Fabric stack.

You will also help implement the Lakehouse Medallion Architecture and support building interactive dashboards, reports, and DAX measures to provide valuable insights to business users. In addition, your role may involve leveraging PySpark, Scala, SSIS, SSAS, and SQL Server technologies to enhance data processing, transformation, and reporting capabilities.

This is a hands-on position where you will contribute to the end-to-end data pipeline process while working with large-scale data in a fast-paced, retail environment.

Responsibilities Include:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines in Azure using Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Pipelines, and other cloud-based data integration tools.
• Utilize Fabric Notebooks (SQL, PySpark or Scala) for data transformation and analysis.
• Develop, test, and optimize data ingestion and transformation processes, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Effectively translate business intelligence, reporting and analytics requirements to database modelling and design.
• Provide production support for issues in data ingestion, transformation. Support the deployment, testing, and monitoring of data solutions.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and relevant software (MS Purview) is a plus
• Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices (Azure DevOps).
• Develop and maintain data models, including dimensional models and DAX measures to support reporting and analysis.
• Work with on-premises SQL Server, and SSIS/SSAS technologies to ensure optimal data transformation and reporting.
• Build visual reports, paginated reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring that they meet the needs of business users and stakeholders.

About You:

• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Dimensional Modelling
• Expertise in Azure, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, DAX.
• Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, and SQL.
• Experience managing and analysing large datasets across multiple sources.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience in data analytics, preferably within Retail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business-aligned reporting solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
