At Amart, we are currently going through an exciting period of modernising our stores.  Due to increased productivity and efficiencies in our layouts, we are able to create additional tenancies within our existing spaces and sub-lease these to complimentary tenants (“Right-size Leasing”).

We are looking for an experienced development manager with proven leasing skills to oversee our Right-size Leasing program and deliver epic outcomes to our business.

Reporting to the General Manager of the Property department, no two days will be the same.  This amazing opportunity is a 15-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

About the role: 

Your key focus will be on:

  • Working with, managing and motivating external agents to market leasing opportunities and secure tenants
  • Working with our Project Management Team to forecast costs and programs
  • Running basic feasibility studies and developing business cases
  • Negotiating lease terms that deliver the required outcomes
  • Obtaining internal approvals and instructing solicitors on formal lease documentation
  • Managing the projects until handover to our Project Management Team

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years development experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in understanding and implementing Agreement for Leases
  • A proven record of delivering challenging KPIs
  • A “team player” mind-set
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ideally, experience:
    • Leasing from the Landlord-side
    • Working in a retail business
    • Microsoft Office 365 suite
